After a month or two of preparation, we’re excited to officially announce that The Southern Slammers are now live for all things pickleball in Southland Murihiku, New Zealand.
If you’ve been searching for pickleball in Invercargill, Winton, Gore, Te Anau, or anywhere in Southland, you’re in the right place.
The Southern Slammers are an informal collective of pickleball enthusiasts, sports venues, and local clubs working together to organise and promote pickleball across Southland and the wider South Island.
Our short-term goal is simple:
👉 Centralise all pickleball communication in one place.
Longer term, we want to facilitate and promote all existing pickleball sessions and events — while also building coaching opportunities, leagues, tournaments, and more.
In united fashion, we’re aiming to bring pickleball to more people across Southland Murihiku, and give a little extra spotlight to the world’s fastest growing sport right here in our corner of New Zealand. Whether that’s newspaper articles, radio segments, podcast appearances, or community events; anything that thelps show that you can play pickleball in Southland pretty much every single day.
